Webinar on the Reimbursement of Maternity Leave Pay (RMLP) Scheme

The RMLP Scheme

The statutory maternity leave (ML) under the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57) has been extended from 10 weeks to 14 weeks effective from 11 December 2020. Employers can apply for reimbursement of the statutory maternity leave pay paid to employees in respect of the 11th to 14th weeks’ ML, subject to a cap of $80,000 per employee, through the RMLP Scheme.

The RMLP Scheme is an administrative scheme overseen by the Labour Department and operated by a processing agent.
