Since the lifting of China's 'zero-COVID' strategy in late 2022, Chinese officials have been actively working to restore the country's appeal as a prime investment destination. However, the China Business Confidence Survey (BCS) 2024, conducted by The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China in partnership with Roland Berger, reveals that this recovery journey is fraught with challenges. The annual survey shows that despite the re-opening of China’s borders in early 2023, business confidence in the market continued on a downward trend.
