EuroCham's Digital Innovation Council's presence in the Web3*100 Law and Tech Conference,
The financial sector is undergoing a significant transformation as digital assets and currencies (DACs) gain traction. The rise of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and the increasing interest in stablecoins and cryptocurrencies have drawn considerable regulatory attention. Hong Kong is emerging as a potential DAC hub, supported by proactive regulatory initiatives designed to foster innovation and ensure market integrity.
On June 14th, the Digital Innovation Council participated in the Web3*100 Law and Tech Conference, hosted by Mung Legal Firm at the International Finance Centre (IFC). This key event brought together approximately 50 industry experts to discuss the landscape surrounding digital currencies and asset token offerings. The conference began with a panel titled “Digital Currencies: Stablecoins, CBDC and Innovation,” featuring EuroCham’s Board Secretary, Stratos Pourzitakis. He provided valuable insights into the intersections of digital currencies and financial innovation, highlighting Hong Kong’s potential as a leader in the DAC space.
The afternoon sessions continued to explore cutting-edge topics, including Quantum Computing. Moderated by our Co-Chairman, François Rivard, the panel included industry leaders Céline Bourgoin (Veolia), Helena Ho (OLP), and Raphaël Mansuy (Elitizon). They discussed how innovation and regulation can collaboratively advance the development of Smart Cities in Hong Kong.
We invite you to join our upcoming panel discussion to explore how Hong Kong is positioning itself as a DAC hub and the implications of recent regulatory initiatives. Our expert panel will address critical topics, including:
What does it mean for Hong Kong to become a DAC hub? How does the city compare to global competitors, and what are the key gaps that need to be addressed?
What are the latest developments concerning CBDCs and stablecoins in Hong Kong? What impact will these developments have on the local financial ecosystem?
How are institutions and investors responding to recent regulatory changes in the virtual assets landscape?
What benefits does the tokenization of real-world assets provide to non-institutional players in Hong Kong?
How can SMEs leverage these evolving dynamics to succeed in the emerging landscape?
This is an excellent opportunity to engage with industry experts and gain insights into the future of digital innovation in Hong Kong.
