Intellectual Property Rights Business Council (IPRBC)
The Intellectual Property Rights Business Council (IPRBC) is an initiative by the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, has an overall competence for the whole spectrum of intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The IPRBC, formerly known as the European Brands Protection Council (EBPC), was founded on 15th May 2012 by representatives from European companies from various business sectors.
IPRBC seeks the broadest possible representation of European businesses in Hong Kong and Macau within its contributors.
The Council aims to bring together experts on a regular basis, to brainstorm on policy, regulatory, and market access issues, in the field of IPR and wider trade-related matters.
The purpose is to aggregate the interests of the European Industry and Business Associations in dealing with government departments, public authorities and other organisations in the Europe, Hong Kong, Macau, and the Greater Bay Area.
Large, medium and small enterprises from all business sectors and European Member States throughout Hong Kong and Macao are welcome to join this Business Council.
Main Objectives

Develop research work on IPR-related matters

Strengthen consumer protection in Hong Kong and Macau against the use and impact of counterfeit products

Work closely with Hong Kong and Macau Government agencies, consumer protection agencies, and industry bodies to raise awareness on the social and economic ills on sale and use of counterfeits and pirated goods

Provide proposition papers and other input to the Office of the European Union to Hong Kong and Macau for the formulation of EU bilateral policies and regulatory dialogue on IPR issues with the Hong Kong and Macau government

Work closely with all stakeholders to establish Hong Kong, Macau and the Greater Bay Area as a regional and global role model in the creation, protection, and enforcement of IPRs

Promote sharing of IPR-related knowledge and experience between European, Hong Kong, and Macau businesses
