Marketing Trainee Starting Date: ASAP Duration 3-6 onths Job Summary: ​ EuroCham is looking for a Marketing Trainee for a period of 3 to 6 months. Please note that this role is voluntary. The Trainee should ideally be a student of marketing, design, web programming or any related fields. Responsibilities: ​ ​1. Content creation and management: Design and produce marketing materials, including website content, newsletters, social media posts, press releases, and promotional materials. Ensure consistency in brand messaging and maintain the Chamber's online presence. Familiarity with basic design concepts and tools: Canva, Wix. 2. Implementing marketing strategies: Collaborating with the marketing manager to implement social media, website and marketing plans and campaigns that align with the Chamber's objectives and target audience. 3. Event coordination and promotion: Supporting the planning, organization, and promotion of Chamber events, such as seminars, workshops, networking sessions, and conferences. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution. Requirements: ​ • Design and web design skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. • Excellent copywriting and content creation abilities, keen eye for detail and accuracy. • Experience in managing social media platforms and utilizing digital marketing tools. • The ability to work on multiple projects at one time. Ability to produce materials quickly and on short notice. Independent worker. Awareness of deadlines. Time management skills. • Highly motivated, proactive. Able to work independently and as part of a team. The position is in hybrid mode, both out of our office in Causeway Bay and remotely. The Trainee will assist EuroCham's Business Councils with their lobby & advocacy activities as well as support EuroCham’s General Manager with the overall operations. The Trainee should ideally be a student of international relations, management, economics studies, or any related fields. ​ The Projects Coordinator Trainee’s responsibilities will include: Participating in the meetings of the councils and assisting the members in the research and analysis of European-related business, trade and investment issues in Hong Kong based on particular councils’ industry sector Conducting interviews with stakeholders, summarising information, and writing reports Managing and assisting in various events organised by the councils Providing clerical and administrative support to the team About EuroCham’s Business Councils The aim of the Business Councils is to discuss common challenges member companies are facing, provide a platform for dialogue with Hong Kong authorities, and publish position papers to put forward recommendations to the Hong Kong Government. The councils consist of members from various leading companies in their respective fields. Before I speak on Hong Kong's "going green" agenda, let me first express my appreciation to the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao and the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for jointly organising this event with InvestHK serving as a partner. With the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) due to take place later this year in Glasgow, it is indeed timely to focus our minds on this global issue. In fact, prior to COP26, my Government will publish a Climate Action Plan to map out the road to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050, a pledge I made in my Policy Address last year.     < Back 6 March 2017 EUBIP Position Papers 2017 In line with the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong’s contributions to the European Union Business Information Programme (EUBIP), the EuroCham’s Business Councils have produced Position Papers for 2017. With these Position Papers, the ECC wants to facilitate an open and constructive dialogue to make Hong Kong’s business environment more competitive, encourage more European businesses to set up and expand their operations in Hong Kong. The Business Councils bring together professionals from the 1600 European companies operating in Hong Kong. When preparing the Position Papers, the Councils consulted experts and professionals in the respective fields, as well as the EU office in Hong Kong. The Following Business Councils have produced a Position Paper for 2017: The European Automotive Council’s (EAC) aim is for this position paper to lead to overall improvements in the following target areas: Regulations Inhibiting Future Technology, Greener Transportation Including Electrical Mobility and Manpower. EUBIP EAC 2017 Position Paper The Energy and Environment Business Council (EEBC) chose to highlight areas of concern surrounding a Circular Economy, Commodity Pricing, Glass Recycling and Food Waste Management. EUBIP EEBC 2017 Position Paper The Financial Services Business Council (FSBC) selected the status and development of financial technology (FinTech) in Hong Kong. It analyses the extent to which Hong Kong is prepared to harness the new opportunities presented by this emerging economic sector. EUBIP FSBC Position Paper 2017 The Information and Communication Technology Business Council (ICTBC) Position Paper analyses: Smart Cities, ICT Infrastructure Initiatives-Public Sector Data, ICT Application Initiatives-Mobility-as-a-Service, Ramping up Mechanisms for Attracting Competences, Companies and New Technologies, Innovation Procurement and, lastly, Tech Start-Up Ecosystems. EUBIP ICTBC 2017 Position Paper The Intellectual Property Rights Business Council (IPRBC) selected to analyse the following topics: Hong Kong’s Global Role in Counterfeit Trading, IPR Protection- On the Internet, IPR Protection at the Borders, IPR Protection on Inland and, at last, Co-operation and Awareness. EUBIP IPRBC 2017 Position Paper About EUBIP The EUBIP programme has been up and running since June of 2014. Its general objective is to strengthen economic partnership and business cooperation with Hong Kong and Macau. It also attempts to ensure that a stronger and more coordinated representation of European business and its interests are present in Hong Kong and Macao.     < Back Finance Secretary rejects issuing bonds SCMP 8 Feb 2021 The economy shrank 6.1% in 2020 amid the pandemic, the worst annual economic performance on record It was the second straight year the economy contracted following a GDP fall of 1.2% in 2019. GDP in the fourth quarter of 2020 dropped by 3% from the same period the year before, a slight improvement from a 3.6% contraction in the three months ending March. The Financial Secretary Paul Chan also reiterated the need to maintain the Hong Kong-US dollar peg, which he said had provided a good social and business environment. However, he conceded the policy would tie the government’s hands in tackling economic cycles by means of adjusting exchange or interest rates.ng September. Meanwhile, Financial secretary Paul Chan rejected suggestions to issue bonds to raise funds to cover deficits, warning it could shake the public’s confidence in the soundness of the city’s finances and in turn affect fiscal stability and security.     < Back EU proposes tougher regulations on exporting trash Euronews 18 Nov 2021 The European practice of exporting pollution could soon end as the Commission presented a new proposal for stricter rules on waste shipments. Much of the waste the EU produces ends up much further away than its borders. Almost half of it ends up in countries where it is incinerated or where are no environmental guarantees – increasing the potential harm to nature. In 2020 the bloc exported 32.7 million tonnes of waste, most of it to Turkey. The EU now says there will be more scrutiny of shipments. Find out more here . Previous Next
