On February 21st, two Members of the European Parliament had a meeting with EuroCham’s team, headed by Mr Paul Brough, Chairman. The members, Mr Derek Vaughan from UK and Mr Liam Aylward from Ireland, were invited by Special Representative for Hong Kong Economics and Trade Affairs to the European Union (SREU) in Brussels to join the European Parliament – Hong Kong Friendship Group and visit HK. The European Parliament (EP) is the highest legislative body within the European Union. It also plays an important part in the shaping of European Policies. To promote the interest of Hong Kong, SREU has pulled together the members of EP who are interested in Hong Kong to form an informal group, the European Parliament – Hong Kong Friendship Group.
